Charter Realty acquires 11,000 s/f 60-70 Cross St. in the North End

Boston, MA Charter Realty & Development Corp. has acquired 60-70 Cross St. This property is the latest addition to Charter’s growing commercial portfolio in Massachusetts and kicks starts its new urban program. Charter currently owns and operates over a million and a half s/f of commercial space in the Bay State.

Formerly this North End iconic location was home to Martignetti’s Liquors. The property runs the length of the entire city block between Salem St. and Hanover St., each a major route running through the district. The property serves as the gateway to the North End, and will ultimately be improved and redeveloped as a mixed-use project creating a focal point highlighting this cultural area.

Currently the 11,000 s/f commercial building includes retail space occupied by Citizens Bank, Bread & Butter Café Bakery, and additional local merchants. The property also includes a small apartment building on Salem St., and a highly viewed billboard fronting the Greenway leased by Clear Channel.

The property owner was represented by Sean Gildea of the Dartmouth Company, who brokered the transaction independently.
