Charter Signs 25th Deal with TJX at the Meriden Mall in Meriden, CT

Charter Realty and Development is pleased to announce the leasing of its 25th TJX at the Meriden Mall, which is located in Meriden, CT. The Meriden Mall, which is owned by the Westfield Group, is 894,435sq ft. The mall includes anchors like Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Macy’s. In total the mall has 142 stores. It is Connecticut’s seventh largest mall. The Westfield Group, the owners of the Meriden Mall, is an Australian shopping center group with a majority of its property not in America, but rather overseas in Australia and New Zealand. This deal that brought TJX to Meriden is Charter’s only deal with Westfield to date.

The TJX store that was put into the Meriden Mall is Marshall’s, a chain of clothing, footwear, and bedding retailers with over 750 locations in 42 states. Marshall’s is the subsidiary of the larger TJX Company. Charter Realty and Development is TJX’s exclusive broker for Connecticut. The Marshall’s property is 23,137sq ft at the Meriden Mall. This is not Charter’s 25th Marshall’s signing, but rather its 25th with Marshall’s and its sister TJX Company, TJMaxx.

Charter Realty and Development currently owns and leases over 12 million square feet of space throughout the Northeast from Maine to Virginia to Pennsylvania.
