WESTPORT – State Rep. Kerry Wood, who has more than 20 years’ experience in commercial real estate, has joined Charter Realty as its next vice president.
Wood, a Democrat from Rocky Hill, recently worked at New England Retail Properties in Wethersfield.
Her brokerage experience began at a boutique firm in Westport, followed by positions at Cushman & Wakefield, Trinity Real Estate Group in upstate New York. Throughout her career, Wood has represented both national and regional tenants across a range of markets, demonstrating a talent for tackling complex leasing challenges – from full-scale repositioning of shopping centers to strategic ground-up development initiatives.

In addition to her commercial real estate brokerage work, Wood currently serves in the Connecticut General Assembly, where she chairs the Insurance & Real Estate Committee. Her legislative efforts have earned her accolades from the Connecticut Restaurant Association and the Retail Merchants Network, both of which named her Legislator of the Year for her work advancing policies that support a strong and dynamic state economy.
Wood remains actively involved in industry groups including ICSC and CREW. Her collaborative style and broad expertise have made her a trusted advisor to tenants, landlords, and fellow professionals alike.
At Charter, Wood will focus both on tenant and landlord representation efforts across the Northeast, with a particular emphasis on the Connecticut market. Leveraging her local market insight and deep industry connections, she will help retailers identify strategic growth opportunities while guiding property owners through leasing strategies that enhance long-term asset value.
